Setting up Google Business sync (two-way)

Connect your Google Business profile to Avago once, and your hours, photos, posts and reviews stay in lock-step both ways.

Before you start

You'll need owner or manager access to the Google Business profile you want to connect. If several people manage the listing, check you're on the account that actually holds the rights — a contributor role won't be enough to authorise the connection.

Connecting your account

Open Integrations → Google Business → Connect. The OAuth screen opens in a new window. Sign in with the Google account that manages your listing and approve the access Avago asks for.

Authentication & permissions

The scopes we request are deliberately the minimum needed to read and write your business information. Avago never gains access to your wider Google account, your Gmail or your ad spend — only the business profile you authorise.

Verifying the location

After OAuth, Avago lists every location you have access to. Pick the one you want to connect. If you manage a group, connect them one at a time so each maps to the right site.

Choosing what to sync

Once a location is picked, you choose what to keep in sync. Defaults are sensible and cover the common case:

  • Hours — bidirectional. Holiday hours included.
  • Photos — Avago → GBP only by default.
  • Posts — Avago → GBP.
  • Reviews — GBP → Avago only.
  • Menu / services / products — bidirectional.

The first overnight sync

The first sync runs the night you connect (around 03:00 UTC). It's a full reconciliation, so it happens off-peak rather than the instant you click connect. By the next morning your site and your listing should match.

Ongoing — what flows which way

After the initial sync, ongoing changes propagate within an hour in either direction, following the directions you set above. Change your hours in Avago and the listing updates; reply to a review on Google and it appears in Avago.

Troubleshooting

The most common issue is a sync that 'pauses' — usually because Google revoked the OAuth token. Reconnect from the same Integrations → Google Business screen and the sync resumes from where it left off. If it keeps pausing, confirm your access to the listing hasn't been downgraded.

What to do next

Once the first sync is clean, the next things worth doing are connecting Search Console, generating an llms.txt manifest, and reviewing your GEO score.
