Custom client login URL

CNAME-based custom URL setup with SSL.

Setting up the custom URL

Part of a convincing white-label setup is letting clients log in at your address rather than an Avago one — something like clients.yourstudio.com. You set the custom login URL in your agency white-label settings by entering the subdomain you want to use. Avago then gives you the DNS record to add so the subdomain points at the login experience, branded with your kit. Pick a subdomain you'll keep long-term, since it's the address you'll share with every client.

SSL provisioning

A login page must be secure, and Avago handles that for you. Once the subdomain is pointing correctly, Avago issues an SSL certificate for it automatically via Let's Encrypt — the same free, auto-renewing certificates used for published sites. There's nothing to buy or upload; the certificate is provisioned once DNS validates, and it renews itself thereafter. Your clients reach the login over HTTPS with a valid padlock from day one.

DNS verification

The connection comes down to DNS, added wherever you manage the subdomain's records:

  1. In your white-label settings, note the CNAME target Avago provides for your chosen subdomain.
  2. At your DNS provider, add a CNAME record on that subdomain pointing to the target.
  3. Save, and let DNS propagate — usually under an hour.
  4. Avago detects the record and issues SSL; the custom login URL then goes live.

Set the custom login URL up at the same time as your brand kit and branded emails. The three together are what make clients feel they're using your studio's own platform rather than a rebadged third party.
