Scheduling a publish for a specific time
The scheduler, what gets queued, and how to cancel a scheduled publish you don't want any more.
The scheduler
You don't have to publish the instant a change is ready. From the publish dashboard, choose to schedule instead of publishing now, then set the date and time you want the changes to go live. Avago pushes them for you at that moment — no need to be logged in. It's the clean way to handle a launch, a seasonal change or a price update that should land at a precise time, and to publish outside business hours without staying up for it.
A few things worth knowing about what gets queued:
- The scheduled publish captures the changes you've made; keep editing and you may want to reschedule so the latest work is included.
- The dashboard shows a Scheduled badge so it's clear something is queued.
- Double-check the time zone the time is set in before you confirm.
Cancelling a scheduled publish
Plans change, and a scheduled publish is never locked in. As long as it hasn't run yet, you can cancel or reschedule it from the publish dashboard:
- Open the publish dashboard.
- Find the scheduled publish (look for the Scheduled badge).
- Cancel it, or change it to a new date and time.
Cancelling simply leaves your changes unpublished — they stay safely in draft until you decide what to do with them.
If you're scheduling around a specific event, set a reminder for yourself a little before the scheduled time. That way you've a final chance to glance over the changes — or pull the schedule — before they go public.
